ICDL Arabia has won an ICDL Foundation Best Practice Award in the ‘Employers and Employees’ category for their ‘ICDL Teachers’ Certification Programme’. The programme aimed to give teachers the knowledge and practical skills to use technology in the classroom. It began in May 2019 with the signing of an agreement with the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and over 40,000 students have gone through the programme to date. The award was presented to ICDL Arabia’s CEO, Jamil Ezzo, at a ceremony in Dubai, by Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ICDL Foundation.

The Best Practice Awards were established to acknowledge and credit initiatives and projects that are considered as exceptional examples of the implementation of ICDL programmes, which help to increase levels of digital literacy and promote ICDL in local markets. This particular category acknowledges successful projects or initiatives implemented in workplaces. These include public sector workplaces, such as government ministries that use ICDL to ensure employees have essential skills, or private sector workplaces, such as businesses that use ICDL to stay competitive with a skilled workforce.
